Gregory DeMars, age 65, longtime resident of Elmhurst; loving father of Thomas Demars; dear brother of Douglas (Susan) DeMars and Dawn (Fred) Castro; fond uncle of Derek (Dresden Glover) and Thomas DeMars, Thomas (Gerri) Castro and Frances (Paul) Castro-Hill and great-uncle of Ellie, Addie and Olivia Castro; cherished son of the late Judith, nee Langosch and the late James N. DeMars; former spouse of Karen Scotellaro. Greg was a devoted dad that supported his son through Tom’s motocross career while working as a machinist at the Chicago Sun-Times. After retiring with 30 years of service to the Sun-Times, he retired to Great Exuma Island, Bahamas. During his time in the Bahamas he continued to be a support to Tom. Greg loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and shooting as well as time spent with friends and family. A celebration of life is being planned by his family for a future date.
