Philip L. Knoeppel, age 90, of Elmhurst, passed away at his home on Friday February 28, 2025; beloved husband of the late Dorothy, nee Dyer; loving father of David (Jacqui) Knoeppel, Jane Beck, and Barbara Knoeppel; proud grandfather of Brittney, Morgan, Margot, and Mallory; dear brother of Cara Ondra and the late Rosemary Meyer; cherished son of the late LeRoy and the late Alma Knoeppel. Philip was born on November 8, 1934 in Quincy, IL. He was a graduate of Arlington Heights High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University in English and History. Phil met Dorothy and they were married on April 14, 1963. He worked as a salesman for Proctor & Gamble in Chicago until his retirement. Phil enjoyed his dogs, hunting, fishing, classical music, operas, theater, and spending his summers at his cabin in Minnesota. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 8 at 11 a.m. at the Atlanta Cemetery in Atlanta, IL. Lunch will follow at the Atlanta United Methodist Church.
