Michael Edward Regole, age 65, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024 surrounded by his family and loved ones after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born on September 24, 1959 in St. Charles, Illinois to Donald and Mary (Diehl) Regole. He later raised his family in Naperville, IL until moving to Eagle River, WI 17 years ago.
Michael loved the outdoors and was a sports enthusiast. Some included boating, fishing, snow skiing and hockey as well as the many Family Vacations to Cayman Islands, Grand Canyon, the mountains out west and Alaska. He was always a huge part of his children’s lives and was there through every heartache and accomplishments. He was heavily involved in his Grandkids lives on a daily basis. He never missed a hockey game or tournament, dance recital, soccer game and was there for every milestone & school event.
He passed on his carpentry skill set and love for construction to his son, Anthony and Son-in-law Josh. Michael spent many years coaching hockey in Illinois where he was awarded “Coach of the Year”. After grandson, Kaden was born he got back into the coaching world for a few years before retiring to “PA in the stands”. In his younger years, he was an avid football and hockey player. He spent 45 years as a master carpenter and enjoyed all the relationships made with clients through the years.
Michael is further survived by his wife: Gretchen (Nasharr) Regole; children: Anthony Regole and Gretchen (Josh) Bonack; grandchildren: Kaden, Kailey and Kason Bonack; father: Don (Mary) Regole; mother: Mary Sutter; brothers: Don (Shirley) Regole, Rich (Renee) Regole, Paul (Gabrielle) Regole; sisters: Karen (Mike) Funk and Linda Clark. As well as many nieces and nephews, especially his niece, Lyndsy Maechtle, who always thought of Michael as a second Dad and her husband Chris LaBarre. He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law Greg Hanson.
Michael was loved unconditionally and will always be extremely missed. His love for us all will always remain in our hearts.
Visitation Saturday, November 16, 2024, 11:30 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial 12:30 p.m. at Visitation Catholic Church, 779 South York Road, (at Madison), Elmhurst.
There will also be a Celebration of Life for Michael in Eagle River, WI at a later date.
