Mr. Ross was one of the most eccentric, positive, and impactful men I’d ever met. He was a shining example of how kids should be inspired in a classroom. Not only was he funny, understanding, and well liked, he did one thing most teachers can never do—teach and make it fun. All of my peers (Class of 2018) would look forward to Mr. Ross’s class. He truly cared about his students. It shined through his class, his teachings, and the happy birthday messages on Facebook. As one of our oldest teachers he certainly was the youngest at heart, and I’ve always held a special place in my heart for this teacher. My friend and I are quite sad to see him go, but are lucky to know he lead and experienced such a joy filled life. I don’t ever remember him complaining or frowning. He never put anyone down. Not only that, some teachers can be creepy or weird (with female students), and he was the opposite. He’d made his students feel secure and safe around him and never gave off weird vibes, which sadly is becoming more and more common nowadays and is increasingly hard to find. This man was truly a gem Mr Ross is a teacher and a man who will be remembered by us for tens of decades. Farewell, Mr. Ross. Thank you for everything, you did it like nobody else did.

Mike was one of the nicest and happiest persons I have ever met. He was truly an artist when it came to teaching.

Mr. Ross (the Boss) was a legend at Addison Trail High School; all 3 of the Rowley kids enjoyed his econ classes (classes of 2010, ’12, ’14). He was the light at the end of the tunnel of a long day at school and it was incredible how he always brought levity, love, and laughter to a classroom with seemingly no effort at all. He was an absolutely cherished gem of a teacher, which would naturally extend to his family and friends he held dear; we are keeping you all in our prayers during this tough time. We’ve also made a collective donation to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology on his behalf.
