Alan J. Bacher

Alan J. Bacher, beloved son of the late Carl and Hilda (Gilles) Bacher, was born in Elyria, Ohio on October 17, 1942. He attended DeVry Institute (class of 1961), and DePaul University (class of 1970). Al proudly served our country in the Army and was stationed in Korea.

Alan brought a tireless work ethic into his career as a CPA. He spent the majority of his career at Columbus Hospital and then worked for Rozovicks Group LLP before he retired.

Alan’s lifelong passions included golfing, bowling, gardening, collecting wine, and spending time with family and friends. Alan was proud to be a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.

Alan met his second wife Janet in 1999 while participating in a work bowling league. Together, they shared their love of travel, wine club dinners, Cubs games, plays, and a place in Arizona.

Alan passed away on September 28, 2024.

Alan was the beloved husband of the late Janet, nee Orewiler; loving step-father of Elizabeth (John) Hausoul, Joanne (John) Brown and Jennifer (Tom) Morrissey; devoted Grandpa Al of Andrew Hausoul, Lindsay (fiancé Zach Ervin), Steve (Grace) and Phillip (Courtney) Brown and Sarah, Jack and Danny Morrissey; and great-grandpa of Lincoln Elizabeth Brown, Wesley, Maverick, and Rilyn Brown; dear brother of Gerald (Janice) Bacher, and the late Ronald Bacher; uncle of Brian (Sheri), Jeffrey(Nikki), Steven (Mary), Jason (Wendy), Melissa (Justin) Linsmeier, Brad (deceased), and Joanna.
