Nancy Rose Zerante (née Abbate) entered into eternal life on August 9, 2024, at the age of 100. Nancy was born on March 29, 1924, in Chicago, IL. She now joins in Heaven her beloved husband, George, and her dear sisters, Jessie, Sandy, and Millie.
Nancy’s memory is cherished by her loving family: her sons, George (Judy) and Larry (Mary Ellen); her adored grandchildren, Larry (Erica), Ryan (Stacey), Nick (Emily), Lauren (Ryan) Mitchell, George (Carolyn), Phil (Stacie), and Taylor (Jason) Whitney; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Wade, Desi, Rocco, Vinny, Goldie, Parker, Riley, Ronan, and Echo, with another great-grandchild blessedly on the way.
A devout Catholic, Nancy’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and sustaining her spirit. She was a pillar of strength and devotion within her family, instilling values of unity and mutual care that will endure as her legacy.
Nancy was also a gifted cook and baker, whose recipes and dishes, particularly her spiedini, fried zucchini, meatballs, biscotti, apple pie, and banana breads, brought joy to countless family gatherings and will be deeply missed.
Known for her wise counsel and empathetic ear, Nancy was a source of comfort and guidance to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her presence was a blessing, her life a testament to love and faithfulness.
The family will hold a private service to honor Nancy’s life.
