Cooney, age 70, longtime resident of Elmhurst; ICHS Class of 1971, avid cross stitcher, knitter, reader, puzzle master and cat lover; beloved mother of Matthew Cooney; cherished daughter of Helen, nee Deichstetter and John “Jack” Cooney; dear sister of Kathleen “Kasey” (Bill) Sparkman, Linda (Tim) True and Carol (Jack Haeger) DeCroix; predeceased by her brother Kevin Cooney. Loving aunt of Lisa True, Kevin (Amanda) Sparkman, Heather (John Alexa) True, Erin Sparkman, Kyle (Jen) Sparkman, and Jack (Iris Gonçalves) Haeger. Loving great aunt of 8 nieces and nephews.
