Sarah Therese Galvin, nee Nelligan, age 89 passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family December 17, 2023; beloved wife of the late Thomas Joseph; loving mother of Mary Anne Shaw, Eileen (Kevin) Bowman, Thomas, Kevin (Cindy), Terrence, Brian (Sheila), and Sheila (Francis) O’Hara; cherished grandmother of Patrick, Mary Kate and Kelly Shaw, Bridget and Katie Bowman, Eleanor (Andrew) Robinson, Thomas and Audrey Galvin, Kelly (Dave) Biasco, Molly (Cory) Griggs, Amy Galvin, Annie (Spencer) Snodsmith, Sean Galvin, James, Anna, Brigid and Kathleen O’Hara, and the late Michael Galvin and great-grandmother of 13; dear sister of Denis (the late Angeline) Nelligan and the late John (the late Winifred), Francis and Thomas Nelligan; devoted daughter of the late Dennis and the late Mary, nee Bodkin, both natives of Ireland; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Sarah’s favorite pass time was spending time with her family and attending the many sporting events where she was the greatest cheerleader to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sarah was an incredible mother and we will miss her dearly. Visitation Wednesday, 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, 10:00 a.m. until time of prayers 11:00 a.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (½ mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 noon at Visitation Catholic Church. Interment Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Hillside.
