Lillian L. Scarpelli, nee Signorella, age 101, a lifetime resident of Melrose Park, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 11, 2023, due to natural causes. Lillian was the beloved wife of the late Frank W.; loving mother of Bonnie (Dominic) Stramaglia, Darlene (John) Carpino, and Frank N. (Cynthia) Scarpelli; cherished grandmother of Timothy (Kristi) Stramaglia, John (Jeannine) Stramaglia, Kimberly (Daniel) Stramaglia-Brannigan, Laura (Neil) Stramaglia-Purkett, Eugene (Gia) Carpino, Anthony Carpino, Catherine McGill, Jennifer Scarpelli, Christina Scarpelli-Whitmarsh, and great-grandmother of 14; devoted daughter of the late Lucy, nee Augustine, and the late Paul Signorella; dear sister of the late John (Ann), Anthony, Paul (Dora) Signorella, Connie (Joseph) Adamson, Bernice (Milton) Otto, Marge (Al) Bodnar and Martha (Donald) Hulsman; fond aunt of many. Mrs. Scarpelli had her own business as a hairstylist, worked on critical wartime aircraft components during World War II, and raised three children as a homemaker after the war. Her family will never forget her as an exceptionally dedicated, hardworking, and generous woman with a loving heart and a multitude of creative abilities. She loved her children, adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and will be dearly missed by many.
