Robert J. Slawinski

Robert J. Slawinski was born on December 14, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois. Grew up in the South Shore area of Chicago and eventually longtime resident of Elmhurst. Graduate of St. Ambrose University, MBA from Western Illinois University and certificate recipient from Kellogg Business School and University of Chicago. Bob started his long-time career in sales at Gallo Wines, Vice President of Romano Brothers and Vice President of Southern Wine and Spirits. Bob was a brilliant, tenacious, and determined businessman. His love for the industry was best exemplified by his mentoring of the many wine and spirits industry members. Bob was an excellent athlete and excelled in baseball as well as many other sports. He was an avid reader, student for life, and known for his integrity, impeccable style, sharp wit and dry sense of humor.  Bob was an intelligent, gentle, and loving husband and father. He was the beloved husband of Mary Grace, nee Jordan, for over 47 years; loving father of Sara and John (Reina); proud grandfather of Jeremy Jordan Slawinski and step grandson Devin Delgado; dear brother of the late Dorothy (the late Sonny) Piotrowski; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Thursday, May 18, 2023, 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (½ mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst. Interment Private.
