Maureen Louise “Mo Mo” Mullen

Maureen Louise “Mo Mo” Mullen, age 74, cherished twin of Kathleen (the late Robert J. Boylan) Mullen and sister of William (Diane), Daniel (Susan), Judi (Chris) Douvris and the late Michael (Danusia) Mullen; beloved daughter of the late Catherine M., nee Cullen and the late William E. Mullen; dear aunt and great-aunt of many nieces and nephews. Maureen was a gentle and happy soul that was loved by everyone she met. She loved music of all kinds and especially recordings by Jack Jones. Maureen could often be found singing along with her favorite tunes. Some of Maureen’s happiest time was spent outdoors enjoying nature’s beauty and spending time with her devoted twin sister Kathleen. The twins referred to each other as “Honey Bun.” Maureen’s passing will leave a gap in the lives of those she left behind but we take comfort knowing she is at peace reunited with her parents, brother Michael and many beloved aunts, uncles and friends. A Memorial Service is being planned for Spring of 2023. Arrangements handled by Gibbons Funeral Home, Elmhurst. 630-832-0018 or www.gibbonsfuneralhome.com

I have so many memories of growing up with Maureen, seeing her everyday while Judi and I played. We played Barbies while listening to Jack Jones with Maureen. She could sure sing! She got a kick out of Judi and I dancing in our white go go boots to Nancy Sinatra, the green Ford she loved in the garage. Her hugs were the best. She was so loving and caring, I always looked forward to seeing her smiling face! Maureen loved everyone and she was so loved by everyone.

I remember Maureen always surrounded by the numerous siblings, uncles, and aunts making sure she was part of the normal family goings on. She had an easy smile when you talked with her. Her appreciation of Jack Jones and her love of singing, along with the stylish way she carried herself on outings will have her sought after for the heavenly choir. I know our many relatives greeted Maureen with joy. Condolences to Kathy, Bill, Judi, Dan, and the rest of the family.
