Frances G. Eraci

Frances G. Eraci, nee Smyth, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2022, after a long and graceful battle with dementia and cancer. She lived her life with a strong Catholic faith and a beautiful devotion to the Blessed Mother. She shared her kindness with everyone she encountered and always extended a helping hand to anyone in need. Fran was born on December 20, 1936, and grew up on the north side of Chicago, the youngest of five children born to Irish immigrant parents. She never forgot her roots and was always proud of her Irish heritage. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Frances Smyth; her siblings, Patricia (the late Bill) Sheehan, Michael Smyth, Bernard Smyth and Rev. John Smyth. Nothing meant more to Fran then her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph R.; loving children, James (Cooky), Mary Pat (Bill) Sullivan, Mary Beth, Mary Margaret, Mary Catherine (John) Phillipp, Michael (Tracy), and Mary Jean; cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Gabriela, James, Joseph and Jacob Eraci, Brigid and Megan Sullivan, John, Daniel and Luke Phillipp, Talia and Mia Eraci; She was a beloved aunt, cousin godmother and friend to many. Fran made lasting friendships throughout every state of her life, always finding time to meet up with her cherished friends for lunch. The family would like to sincerely thank everyone that offered thoughts and prayers for Fran as her health deteriorated. Your love was a true reflection of Fran’s love for all of you. Interment Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Hillside.
