Marguerite Jean Lorenzini Lieb, formerly of Berkeley and Wonder Lake, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at the age of 97. She showed great strength and courage during her illness. She was born on March 29, 1925 to Viola and Clarence Lorenzini. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank, loving mother of Stephen (Billie), Barbara (Larry Nybo), Frank (Betsy), proud grandmother of Stephen (Stephanie), Nicole (the late Steve), Christopher (Faye), Carina (Patrick), Erik (Allison), Elisa (John), Sarah and great-grandmother of 13, fond sister of Clare. Marguerite grew up on the West Side attending Providence High School and later had careers at Sears, Elmhurst Auto Parts, State Farm and MPOA of Wonder Lake. After the war in 1947 she married Frank Lieb and they bought their first home and raised their children in Berkeley. They vacationed at the “cottage” in Wonder Lake before eventually moving into their dream home on the lake. She had a passion for Frank Sinatra music, was a huge fan of Jeopardy, was a longstanding Cub fan and attended mass weekly prior to the Covid pandemic. One of her proudest accomplishments was being named the Parade Marshall for the 2006 Wonder Lake 4th of July parade. While in Wonder Lake, she rehabbed weekly at the hospital in McHenry forming lifetime friendships with other heart patients. She enjoyed getting together with her friends so much that she formed a social club at the McHenry McDonalds calling it “Club Mac”. No one loved a party more than Marguerite. She thought the secret to longevity was rehabbing at the health club and enjoying a glass of wine nightly. We take great comfort in knowing she is at peace and finally reunited, after almost 25 years, with her loving husband Frank who surely will meet her at the gates of heaven to welcome his “Tiger” home.Visitation Tuesday, August 2, 2022, 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (½ mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst.
