Amelia Ann Trojanek

Amelia Ann Trojanek born August 23, 1939, passed away September 27, 2021, at her home in Gold Canyon, AZ. Her husband Joseph of 61 years was at her side along with her son Christopher and grand-daughterIsabella.  Amelia was born in Oak Park, IL and grew up in Elmhurst, IL.  For the past 22 years, Joseph and she enjoyed their retirement in AZ.  She is survived by her husband Joseph, her 3 sons, Timothy, Christopher (Susan) and Terrance, and her 3 grandchildren, Adam (a graduate of Kettering University and employed with General Motors), Isabella (a recent college graduate from the University of Pittsburgh and a commissioned 2 ^nd  Lieutenant in the U.S. Airforce as a nurse), and George (currently attending Valparaiso University on a full academic scholarship and a member of the football team).   She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Charles and Amy (Molly) Smola, Beatrice Holiday, and her loving brother who lost his life at the age of 11, Charles “Chuckie” Smola.   Visitation Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (1/2 mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst.  Friends and family will meet for a Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, October 15, 2021 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 134 Arthur Street, Elmhurst. Interment following at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Hillside.   In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for memorials in Amelia’s name to the National Alzheimer Association, 225 N.
