I was just thinking about This sweet man not long ago. He trained me as a bartender at RFCC around 1990-2000. We shared many stores and laughs. My sincere condolences to his family. Rest in peace, Bugs. You’ll never be forgotten.

My condolences to the family of this great man. I had the pleasure of working with Bugs for 5 years at RFCC. He always had a warm smile, a great joke or a wise piece of advice for me. He was one of the most caring and dedicated people I have ever met and with such a great joy for life! Rest In Peace my friend!

We were sacristans at Divine Providence Church in Westchester the last six years. Richard would be one of the first people to come for 4 pm Mass on Saturdays. We enjoyed talking with him. What a truly Catholic gentleman! He is in our prayers along with his family at this difficult time.

Thanks so much. My dads faith was very important to him and he loved Divine Providence, a faithful parishioner for over 60 years

Jan and Rich, as your Dad’s funeral mass approaches I want to extend my sympathy. I knew your Dad for 47 years as an intern, underlining, co-worker and friend. At work we bumped heads from time to time but I always respected him for his dedication to the Blind Center. He positively changed the life’s of countless blinded veterans. His visits to Gary Schultz’s house are already missed and Gary now has to buy his own supply of beer.
So grieve his passing but enjoy all the good memories you shared.

Jan, Rich and Family. What a lovely memorial service. I am sure he loved having his great-grand-children participate and Jim’s comments were so thoughtful. The “Bugs stories” could entertain us for an entire evening. We will miss him.

On behalf of my parents, Michael and Catherine Marchitto, and myself, I extend belated but sincere sympathy to your family on the loss of this beloved gentleman. I have been honored to know Bugs for the past two years as I accompanied my Dad to their Tuesday “Lunch Bunch” get-togethers, a 35-year tradition remarkably sustained even as mobility became difficult for the remaining members, Bugs included. My parents and I always speak in terms of “sweet” and “precious” when we talk about Bugs, so I was tickled by Rich’s reminiscences of his Dad, and I’ll try to remember his words when dealing with my own 101-year-old hard-headed Dad! The memorial service was so moving, and I am so glad to see the beautiful legacy he left behind in his family. He will be sadly missed.
