Susan P. Henriksen

Susan P. Henriksen, nee Hansen, passed away suddenly but peacefully on June 26, 2020 at the age of 77; Susan was caring, tender, compassionate, always supportive, social and ever-loving devoted wife and very proud mother of 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 2 Grand-dogs. She was a beloved Aunt, cousin, friend, neighbor and coworker. Her greatest love was her family. Susan  and her husband James worked tirelessly and happily sacrificed to provide opportunities for their children.  Susan enjoyed life especially time spent living the lake life in Waupaca, Wisconsin, travel – especially trips to Hawaii that took advantage of her travel privileges as an employee of United Airlines.  Susan and Jim traveled for fun and family, always making their children’s football and volleyball games a priority as well as later being always present to babysit their grandchildren and cheer them on at their hockey games.   Hansen Family picnics in the summer and Christmas Eve with the Hansen cousins were highlights of the year.  Susan was a valuable and accomplished employee of United Airlines with a career that included working with Chief Pilots establishing airline routing to Asia.  Her hard work was rewarded and appreciated and her perks included the opportunity to ride jumpseat in the cockpit flying into the Hawaiian Islands.  She remained a loyal United Airlines employee until retirement.  Words can not describe how much she will be missed. Susan was the beloved wife of James, devoted mother of Steven (Christine) Henriksen and Kristin (Carl) Henriksen-Benson and the late Michael; cherished grandmother of Samantha, Sydney, Brendan, Shea and Quinn Henriksen, Carlee and Annie Benson and grand-dogs Duke and Hunter; dear sister of Robert (Sandy) Hansen, aunt of Scott (Michele) Hansen, Cindy (Dean) Likas and great aunt of Taylor; fond cousin of Karen (Ron) Ayers and many other cousins; Susan was a devoted friend of many.   Friends and family are asked to attend the Celebration of Life honoring Susan,  Sunday, July 5, 2020, 5:00 p.m. at Lakeside Memorial Cemetery, Waupaca, WI.  Please arrive in your best Hawaiian Luau fashions.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Susan’s name via check to Adult Christian Care, 314 West Vallette St., Elmhurst, IL 60126.  Adult Christian Care is a small non for profit entity that provides Adult Day Care and excellent programs for adults needing assistance in their community.
