John J. Ryan, age 92, native of Co. Tipperary, Ireland, resident of Elmhurst; former employee of Jewel Food Stores for over 32 years; member Harry Boland Hurling Club and Chicago Gaelic Park; beloved husband of Anne “Nancy” , nee Power; loving father of Martina (Timm) Linders, Dermot (Cheryl) and John (Arpe) Ryan; proud grandad of Kari and Bridget Linders, Neve, Elizabeth and Aidan Ryan and Zaven Ryan; dear brother of Tommy Ryan, Mary Gillespie and the late Paul, Michael and Sr. Angela Ryan and Peggy Kirby; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Thursday, 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (½ mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst. Friends and family will meet for a Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, 10:00 a.m. at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 145 East Grand Avenue, Bensenville.
