David John Dyer, 69, of Elmhurst will be best remembered by his steadfast commitment to family, friends, church and community. His generous spirit and habit of quietly helping was a wonderful example to family and friends. A loving husband and father, deeply committed to the well being of his family. His lifelong commitment to the tradition of service included Immaculate Conception Parish, United Community Concerns Association of Elmhurst, the Elmhurst Public Library, the City of Elmhurst and many more through the years. The crowning achievement of his extended tenure on the library board was to champion the referendum for construction of the new library. David was the beloved husband of Debra Ann, nee Deakin; loving father of Barbara (Elhadji) Diagne , David Jr., Christianne (Jason) Brown; proud grandfather of Josephine and Alexandra; dear brother of Thomas (Mary Ann) Dyer and Diane (James) Byrne.
