“Fare thee well” to another of my GREAT Uncles. As General George S Patton once said, “We should not mourn that such men have died, but celebrate that they had once lived!” I have been SO blessed to have had fellow honored US armed service veterans as my Uncles: Uncle Russell, Uncle Eddie, Uncle Blackie, and Uncle Mike. Thanks to the best Aunts (Auntie Gerry, Auntie Anna Marie, & Auntie Dar) a kid could ever have had, we got to have them as our Uncles. And they gave us the BEST cousins EVER too. I can’t imagine my life without any one of them having been such a loved and loving part of it. I am forever grateful to my Mom and Dad for bringing us into THIS family. I don’t mean to leave out Uncle Larry, Auntie Mary and cousins (all also the BEST), but this is mainly for all my relatives from Grandmas and Grandpas Zanghi and Scavone. Someday we’ll all have our annual famous family picnics together again in Heaven!!! But there’s really no big rush on that…okay??
I salute you, Uncle Russell…for time well served!!!
