How to sum up 85 years. I can only relay my brief glimpses into Mike’s life, usually obtained during vacations; either my family visiting his in Chicago, IL or his family visiting mine in Phoenix, AZ.

I have fond memories of trips to the Grand Canyon, the Field Museum, the zoos or even the mall near the house in Elmhurst to see the tulips in bloom. In the grand scheme, these are brief moments in time, but they left an indelible impact on me.

When I met my wife, our first extended trip together was to meet family in Chicago, IL. I’m so grateful my wife had the opportunity to meet Annie during this trip. Since then we have seen Mike on a number of occasions, but he never seemed content without Annie. Now Mike is fulfilled, but our world is a little more lonely.

My condolences to Tony, John and Joe.
