Catherine A. Zable, age 74, nee McMillin, longtime resident of Elmhurst, avid reader, enthusiastic bridge player, curious traveler; beloved wife of Alan; loving mother of Michael, David (Andrea), Paul (Linda), Bob, and Kate (Steve Bunjes) Zable; proud grandmother of Brian, Cameron, Marilyn, Maxwell, Margaret, Mitchell, Miles, Ethan and Alana; dear sister of Frank (Sandra) McMillin, Iris (Mike) Upchurch and Sheila (Mike) Burch. Visitation Friday, 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. until time of funeral 9:00 a.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (½ mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst.     Dear Alan,
    We wish you comfort and peace at this very sad time. Even though it was expected, one is never really ready when it comes to pass. We are not even getting to Wisconsin for Mom’s birthday as Dick is not up to traveling in the winter. So we will not be coming, but we know that your family is embracing you and will get your through.
    We hope to see you in the spring if you are able to make it to Phoenix. Our thoughts and love are with you.

    I was so saddened to hear of your loss. I offer you my sympathy and hope most of all that you are able to get thru this time of sorrow with as little pain as possible. I am so glad that I got to spend time with you and Cathy at Mom’s service. She will be missed.

    Alan and entire family. I am saddened at Cathy’s passing, but know that she is finally free of pain and suffering. I am glad that she was able to spend her final days on earth with the family and friends she loved so much. I will miss hearing her laughter, and seeing her smile. I have so many fond memories from childhood and through the years.
    I had hoped to join you tomorrow,I will not be able to attend the service. I could not get a flight at a reasonable time and driving won’t work at this time. My prayers and thoughts will be with you.
