Loretta Therese Hackett, nee Carey, age 88, beloved wife of the late Thomas Brice Hackett; loving mother of Thomas Brice Jr. (Jacqueline), Patricia (Thomas) Long, Diane (Henry) Daar, Nancy (Donald) Nolan, Peggy (Steven) Marchese and the late Robert; proud grandmother of Carey, Katey and Thomas Long, Trish (Bill) Whitty, Brigette (Dan) Raia, Lauren Hackett, Andrew, Steven and Jennifer Daar, Katelyn, Daniel, Ryan and Meghan Nolan, and Michael , Brian, Kevin and Sean Marchese; great-grandmother of John and Keegan Whitty; fond sister of Frank (Rita) Carey and the late William Carey and Jean Gerrity. Throughout her adult life, Loretta was a very active member of the following Catholic Church Parishes: St. Simeon, Bellwood, St. John Chrysostom, Bellwood where she served as President of the Ladies of Chrysostom Women’s Guild and Visitation, Elmhurst. Many of her dearest friendships were made within these parishes. She also loved to play bridge and only gave up the game recently. Visitation Friday, April 11, 2014, 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (½ mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst. Friends and family will meet for a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, April 12, 2014, 10:45 a.m. at Visitation Catholic Church, 779 South York Road, (at Madison), Elmhurst. Interment Private.
