Michael P. Brophy

Michael P. Brophy, age 81, Native of Dublin, Ireland; currently of Elmhurst; U.S. Navy Veteran; member Painters Union Local 147; retired Foreman at Pepper Construction with over 40 years of service; loving husband of Eileen, nee Keane; devoted father of Michael J., Brian P. (Judy), Kevin T., Doreen M. (Greg) Batelli and Eileen A. Brophy; proud grandfather of Katie, Connor and Jack Brophy and Patrick, Bridie and Colin Batelli; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Saturday, August 17, 2013, 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (½ mile North of Saint Charles Road), followed by Mass of Christian Burial 10:45 a.m. at Visitation Catholic Church, 779 South York Road, (At Madison) Elmhurst. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Fathers, 8422 West Windsor, Chicago, IL 60656.     I have such wonderful memories of my Uncle Mike growing up! He was so good to me and my siblings Eileen, Colleen and Paul. As a kid we had so much fun with our cousins at the house on Cedar Avenue and also the Lawless home in Melrose Park. We all loved him and Uncle Mike was the life of any family party. I know he is heaven now meeting up with the Irish crowd and having a good laugh.
