Myron “Mike” Watry, 88, of Elmhurst passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and daughters; Native of Chicago; Army Veteran of WWII; Retired from The First National Bank of Chicago with 30 years of service as a banker; beloved husband of Mary Marjorie, nee O’Hara, the love of his life for over 60 years; devoted father of Mary Margaret (Duane) Krzysik, Susanne (David) Kelley, Joanne Groh, Virginia Hirhager and Kathleen (Edward) Koscak; loving grandfather of Daniel (Kate) Krzysik, Katiemarie (Jonathon) Burns, Timothy, Annemarie, Joseph, David and John Krzysik, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Smith, Kevin Kelley, Maureen (Greg) Woods, Brian (Marleana) Groh, Steven Groh, Alicia and Christine Hirhager, Michael and Matthew Koscak and great-grandfather of Zoey Krzysik, Jack and Baby Burns, Killian and Emma Groh, and Taylor Smith; cherished oldest son of the late Leroy and the late Margaret Watry; dear brother of the late Joan and James Watry. Mike was a devout Catholic who had a special devotion to St. Joseph, patron saint of fathers. Mike loved going to daily mass, saying the rosary every night with his wife, listening to Big Band music and watching old movies. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and was especially proud of his wife and daughters who lovingly called his “girls”. Mike’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to his “angel on earth” and dedicated care giver of 8 years, Krystyna Kawa.
